The workings for the creation of UniQuely Northern Hypnosis began in the year 2008 when my son was born. That same year, as some of you may remember, there was also a financial meltdown and being a real estate investor, as well as running an engineering firm whose clients were large real developers, a lot of things changed in my life. My son and I were uprooted and moved back to Canada to be closer to family and benefit from a more stable economic environment.
I had lived in Arizona for most of my adult life. It was my home. I had also been an entrepreneur. In Canada, particularly in the subarctic to where we relocated, everything was new. I took a job working for an Aboriginal engineering firm. I stayed with family for the first month and at 49 years old, I was starting over.
This was challenging. I had left behind the financial and investment security which had taken years to build. Living with family only added to the challenges. They did not understand how adverse things were in the United States. I had a newborn child and was a first-time mother. I could not see the forest for the trees.
I was looking for a way to get back in the game and this is when I discovered Hypnosis! And thank Goodness for that. I started listening to various hypnosis recordings repeatedly, and slowly I began to see the light. I was feeling better, stronger and more optimistic. I rediscovered Ease and Grace and got back in the game.
Then winter came and stayed for the next nine months. It was a UniQuely beautiful environment with the extreme cold, and it was also UniQuely extreme. You must plug your car’s block heater in at night to ensure the car will start in the morning. And then in the morning, you warm the car up and forget that it is plugged into your house and drive your extension cord to work with you. You drive your car on ice roads, the frozen surfaces of the numerous lakes in the region. Skidoos fill up their tanks at the gas stations. You leave your car running when you go shopping to keep the inside warm. The water lines to your house freeze in the winter, so a truck comes twice a week to fill up a large water tank inside your house. At -40 degrees fahrenheit the moisture in the air freezes and you can see the air glistening. And then there are the Northern lights, the Aurora Borealis. Though Northern living is not for the faint of heart, it is absolutely worth it.
I started writing down all of the aspects of living a UniQuely Northern lifestyle. At the same time, my fascination with the power of Hypnosis grew stronger and I was determined to study hypnosis to better understand the power of the mind. Part of my training required that I practice on others. I practiced hypnosis on my friends and their lives were transformed. This was too good to be true. I was compelled to share this knowledge with as many people as possible. And that led to the creation of UniQuely Northern Hypnosis!
